Expert Tips That I Recommend

  • I know washing fruits before adding them to the salad is quite common, but it is a must. Washing fruits not only cleans them but also helps extend their shelf life if you are planning to store them for later.
  • Don’t be afraid to be experimental. You can add honey, tahini, and other dressings to enhance this salad.
  • You can shape your fruits with a mini cookie cutter if you feel playful.
  • When I want my Dragonfruit Salad to be a bit crunchy, I toss some nuts in it.
  • Fresh fruits are the life of this dish, so I do not compromise on them. Using poor, old fruits will leave an odd taste.
  • If you have too many leftovers, you can always store them and enjoy them later. You can also use them in your smoothies to make daily life more nutritious.
  • Although dragon fruit is this salad’s star, you can substitute it with watermelon or honeydew.

Storing & Reheating This Recipe

Storing

  • Countertop: Since I like my Dragonfruit Salad fresh, I do not leave it on the countertop for more than half an hour. After this, I store it in the fridge for future use.
  • Refrigeration: Refrigerating Dragonfruit Salad is relatively easy. I like to add all the leftovers to an airtight container or zip-lock bag and store them in the fridge for at least two days.
  • Freezing: To freeze Dragonfruit Salad, line it in a baking tray and freeze it for 1-2 hours. This allows the fruits to stick together when you put them in a container. After this duration, you can add them to a freezer-friendly bag and store them for up to 6 months.

What To Serve With This Recipe

I like to have Dragonfruit Salad in the mornings. One classic way to enjoy it is with Oatmeal or granola. A bowl of yogurt on the side is also preferable.

If you enjoy Smoothies, you can have them, too. I also like to enjoy it as a snack with cheese and crackers. Casserole and fruit juices are also favorites with this recipe.
