Gordon Ramsay Barbecue Sauce Recipe

Are you preparing to host a backyard barbecue party? Then hold on a moment; I’m here just in time to share an incredible recipe that will take your party to the next level: Gordon Ramsay Barbecue Sauce.

Gordon Ramsay BBQ Sauce

The traditional sauce was limited in flavor and predominantly vinegar-based, but it has now been transformed into a robust and delicious sauce.

Chef Ramsay’s version of this sauce keeps the originality of the dish intact, with a flair for experimentation to create a better concoction of flavors.

So now, let’s kick off any barbecue party with this homemade masterpiece that will definitely wow your guests.

Equipment Required

  • Stockpot: I use a stockpot to cook my sauce easily, but you can also use a heavy-bottom saucepan.
  • Spatula: You can use a wooden or silicone spatula at your convenience to evenly mix the ingredients.
  • Measuring Cups & Spoons: For best results and accuracy in your measurements, make sure to utilize these pieces of equipment.
  • Knife: I also suggest using a sharp knife for precisely chopping the garlic and onions.
  • Cutting Board: I use this to efficiently chop and dice the ingredients and recommend the same.

Expert Tips That I Recommend

  • Simmering the sauce for longer will give you better texture. This also helps all the flavours to meld together evenly.
  • Instead of sauteing the onion and garlic, you can try caramelizing them at a slow temperature for some time for a more robust flavor.
  • Ensure not to over cook the sauce as due to high sugar content, this sauce can be easily burnt. So, it is better you cook the sauce as required and make sure to cook it on low or medium heat.
  • I always splash some homemade pork or beef bone broth for a stronger flavor.

Gordon Ramsay BBQ Sauce Steps

Recipe Variations For Different Diets

  • Ketogenic Diet: I recommend altering tomato ketchup to tomato paste and brown sugar to stevia.  With these alterations, you can easily enjoy this delicious sauce on a keto diet.
  • Low-Sugar Diet: I recommend using sugar-free Worcestershire sauce and tomato ketchup, or even tomato paste, and altering brown sugar with stevia. That way, the recipe becomes suitable for a sugar-free diet.

Storing And Reheating This Recipe

Storing

  • In The Refrigerator: I usually store my sauce in the refrigerator. You too can do the same, by transferring your sauce  to an airtight container or vacuum sealed jar and placing it in the refrigerator. This way, it stays fresh for up to 1-2 months.
  • In The Freezer: I mostly don’t store this sauce in the freezer, and I wouldn’t recommend this as the first option for storage. But if you really need to,  you can pack the sauce in an airtight container or vacuum-sealed jar and keep it in the freezer. The sauce will easily last for up to 3 months.

Reheating

  • Stovetop Method: I recommend adding your sauce to a saucepan and stirring it at medium heat for 5-7 minutes or until it becomes hot.
  • In The Microwave: I transfer the sauce to a microwave dish and place it in the microwave at the highest heat setting for about 30 seconds.  I stir the sauce at regular intervals and heat it for longer if needed.
  • In the Oven: I suggest transferring the sauce to an oven-based bowl, placing it in the oven at 250 F, and reheating it for about 10-15 minutes until piping hot.

What To Serve With This Recipe

Gordon Ramsay Barbecue Sauce complements a range of recipes beautifully, and I have shared some of my personal favorites! I typically enjoy it with a Black Bean Burger or Sandwich, making it an easy go-to for a quick meal.

For a backyard barbecue gathering with friends and family, I recommend adding this sauce to grilled Pork Chops, Grilled Beef Ribs, Grilled Chicken and Pineapple.
